I retired from active pastoral ministry in July 2019 after 39 years. I served smaller and larger congregations, several of which had multiple staff including associate pastors. My areas of expertise are leadership and organizational structure for missional effectiveness, stewardship and financial leadership, as well as staff development and supervision. I am also an effective preacher and have a passion for growing disciples who can disciple others.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McMurry University, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary, where my focus was the initiation process into church membership.
I have formal training in coaching pastors and other ministry leaders, working toward certification as an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation, and am endorsed as a Life Coach by the United Methodist Endorsing Agency. I am also working toward certification as a church consultant from Church Consultation University. I am an Elder in retired relationship to the Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.
